Parts Manager Jobs in North Carolina

A Parts Manager in the maintenance and installation industry is responsible for managing all aspects of a company's parts inventory. They oversee the purchase, storage, and distribution of parts used in maintenance and installation services. They manage inventory levels to ensure parts are readily available for service technicians and work closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing and delivery terms. They also coordinate the return of defective parts and manage any warranty claims. Aside from these, they may also assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to parts and occasionally engage in staff training on new parts or equipment.

Key skills for a Parts Manager include excellent organizational ability, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain management. They should be comfortable with technology, as they often use inventory management software to track parts and order supplies. Important certifications may include a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM). Prior to becoming a Parts Manager, a person may have roles such as Parts Clerk, Inventory Coordinator, or Purchasing Agent. These roles provide experience in inventory management and supply chain operations, which are crucial for a Parts Manager role.
