The Lead HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, calibrating, fabricating, and installing controls for HVAC and refrigeration systems. This important role ensures continuous operation of mechanical equipment, operating building automation systems to manage temperature and airflow to meet service goals in a safe and professional manner.

Job Summary

Provides work direction and supervision to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) mechanics and contractors, coordinating operations, maintenance, repairs and equipment installations in accordance with the service goals and objectives. Responsible for, but not limited to, the maintenance, repair, calibration, fabrication and installation of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and manual controls on all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment in the facilities. Must take extra precautions when working in patient care areas and specifically, keep tools out of reach of children. Performs necessary installation, repair, and maintenance services to assure continuous operation of mechanical equipment and systems. Operates building automation system computers and equipment to control pumps, fans, motors, dampers and related equipment to supply proper indoor air temperature and volume. Helps identify deficiencies, suggest necessary repairs. Must have a general knowledge of plumbing, and general maintenance. Rotating on-call duty is required. May require travel, including overnight stays. May work evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. HVAC or Refrigeration Control Trade or Vo-Tech school preferred.

Must have working knowledge of heating ventilating and air conditioning, plumbing, heating, power plant operations, refrigeration and building automation operations. Two years experience with proven leadership skills required.

Refrigeration certification beneficial. Valid Driver's License required. Must maintain a good driving record.
