Reefer - Diesel Mechanic

  Primary Duties 

• Inspects and tests company vehicles, company box trucks, and company tractor trailers.
• Must be able to troubleshoot/diagnose truck engine and emission systems.
• Utilize scanning tools.
• Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
• Complies with state vehicle and DOT vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders for necessary parts.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Perform all other related duties and assignments as needed.

     What you Bring

• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel tractors
• Either you possess a CDL A or the ability to acquire the license with the assistance of our trainer
• Possess quality hand tools
• Possess flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays if needed
• mechanical, transport refrigeration, and/or electrical systems repair and diagnostic experience a plus.
• CDL B /PA state inspection license is a plus
• ASE Diesel Certification an asset
• Knowledge of refrigeration: reverse and cold plate refrigeration, and Thermal King Unit refrigeration a plus 

Physical Requirements

• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.  
• Capability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
• Capability to walk throughout department for 20% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
• Capability to lift to 100 lbs. on a frequent basis with reasonable accommodation. 
• Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms
• Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift (8+ hours per day)
• Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position.
