Overview Under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor or manager, the Maintenance Assistant performs administrative and office support functions; creates and updates work orders, data entry into the maintenance software and runs reports as requested. Responsibilities Review and update work order log File maintenance work logs/orders as required by OSHA Place orders for parts and equipment as directed by supervisor Track parts, labor and materials in online computer system Follow up on deliveries with vendors Maintain and upload documents to ensure appropriate record keeping Follow up with maintenance technicians for completion of their work orders to ensure paperwork is filed properly Keep maintenance area organized and ensure adequate inventory levels as directed by supervisor Prepare complete and accurate records and reports as required Reports any safety problems to the shift supervisor Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards Other administrative tasks as directed by local management specific to the facility's needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of experience in a similar role Strong communication, teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication skills. Intermediate typing skills Intermediate Excel and Google Sheets skills Ability to learn new software program Excellent attention to detail Basic understanding of how parts and machines work is preferred Ability to understand and follow directions as given Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation and able to access all areas of building without limitations. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time Must have no issues with heights. Lift and move totes up to 50 pounds. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including weekend's holidays as needed by the customer.
