Maintenance Engineer

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance and condition of our Precut facility in Richmond, VA. This role involves preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, cleaning procedures, and inventory management to prevent production interruptions. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal operation of processing, packaging, and distribution equipment while documenting and communicating maintenance procedures to the team.

This position requires on-call availability for emergency maintenance issues and involves travel to Landover, MD for six weeks of initial training .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial food production equipment .
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Conduct diagnostics on industry-specific equipment .
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Supervise and train technicians , ensuring adherence to maintenance protocols.
• Communicate maintenance procedures effectively with staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3-5+ years (or 8+ years) of experience in commercial/industrial maintenance
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility maintenance
• Proficiency in hand and power tools
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex industrial equipment
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience

• Welding experience
• HVAC expertise
• Industry knowledge of Urschel, Lycos, TS Design, Vanmark, Ultrasource, Matrix, Mettler Toledo, and Conveyors
• Advanced electrical knowledge, including low-voltage control wiring and schematic reading
• Certifications in Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, or HVAC
